It's 10 a.m. on a Saturday morning, and I'm sweating in the sun - a scorched artificial turf football field at Homestead High School in San Bernardino, Calif. I sweat while performing with the brass band at the annual Homecoming Parade, a celebration for top graduates who excelled in major competitions. This year I was in Homburg, as the 2018 parade was selected by the University of California, San Diego College of Arts and Sciences (CACS) and California State University System.
